The Swedish company Berg Insight ,thanks to its latest research, shows that the cellular connections M2M (Machine to Machine) in 2013 amounted to more than 18.4 million in the retail industry, almost all represented by connected POS terminals .
M2M technology allows devices such as POS, ticketing terminals and ATMs, to be used for the connection to the fixed network where connectivity is not available or impractical. It is a technology capable of producing a significant innovation in various markets, such as vending and parking, where terminal operators are required to reorganize their activities in order to benefit from the availability of information in real time. Berg Insight forecasts that within 2018 the active M2M connections will be 33 millions.
